There is quite a bit more to iCal than to file sharing collaboration. Each user may create personal or group wide calendars within the wiki. And with proper credentials, subscribe the iCal application on their computer, Touch, or iPhone to the wiki based calendar.

Leopard Server allows system wide shared address books.

• LDAP only works by searches
• Carddav is practically a duplicate of local address book scenario, just moved on up to a server level.
• Exchange Servers are another option available from a Snow Leopard client address book.

iChat just could not be any simpler.
